The Whitsundays Book

The Whitsundays Book Cover

The Whitsundays Book is a general introduction to the Whitsunday islands, including a wealth of detail about local history and the environment - the marine habitat, wildlife, geology, vegetation - as well as information on all of the activities available in this popular subtropical paradise: boating, fishing, diving and snorkelling, camping, visiting a coral reef.

Published in 1995, some specific information about island resorts is out of date, but the book remains authoritative on most other aspects of the area. It is an excellent companion guide to 100 Magic Miles with more general information about the area, its history and wildlife but without the sketch maps and specific information about the anchorages for yachts.
